KenGen has identified seven main Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that align with the company’s key competencies and where it can make a meaningful impact.
KenGen is committed to aligning its operations, strategy, and sustainability priorities with globally recognized sustainability frameworks that provide standardized methodologies for measuring, managing, and disclosing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance. KenGen became a participant of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in May 2019, joining a global initiative for businesses committed to advancing sustainable and responsible practices. Participation in the UNGC reflects KenGen’s commitment to integrating the Ten Principles of the UNGC into its operations, policies, and corporate culture across four thematic areas: human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
